Twenty-seven years ago today, we lost Marvin Gaye. Here, he sings the only ever decent version of the terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad U.S. national anthem (Can we replace it with ‘America the Beautiful’ already? Thanks) at the NBA All-Star Game in 1983.

R.I.P.

Marvin Gaye, a true classic. RIP.
